WEDDING DATE: 08/18/2018

HOW DID YOU MEET? Daniel and I met in the library of the school I work at in New Mexico.

HOW DID YOU KNOW HE/SHE WAS "THE ONE"? According to Daniel, it was when he introduced me to his family, and I didn't run and wasn't intimidated by their numbers. I say it was when I brought him home to meet my dogs and didn't hide from him. They, in fact, adored him.

TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR DRESS: I went dress shopping with my friend Shannon and tried on several dresses at David's Bridal. In the end, I actually ended up picking out a bridesmaid's dress in white! It was simple, lacey, and perfect for the style of our wedding.

WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? Believe it or not, aside from the cake, we DIY'd every component for the wedding from the bouquets, centerpieces, all the way to the food.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING "THEME" OR "STYLE" IN FIVE WORDS OR LESS? Southwestern, casual, and colorful.

WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING COLOR PALETTE? It was warm, using shades of the sky and sunset as well as turquoise.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: They were bright and incorporated many colors! We had a mixture of live flowers, artificial flowers, and even succulents from my own plant collection.

TELL US ABOUT THE FOOD, DESSERTS, AND ANY SPECIALTY BEVERAGES ON THE MENU: The groom's family prepared all the food. We had delicious beef brisket, red chili, green beans, baked beans, salad, and traditional fry bread. Our wedding cake and cupcakes were created by Roxy's Custom Cakes of Albuquerque.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? Daniel says it was when I walked down the aisle and saw me in my dress. My favorite was enjoying the celebration of our marriage with our family.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: We had a very simple and rural honeymoon. We stayed in a log cabin in the woods by a lake. It was pet-friendly as well, so we were able to bring our dogs.

WHAT DOES LIFE LOOK LIKE AFTER THE WEDDING? We are staying quite busy, and life has been great for the two of us.

IS THERE ANY ADVICE YOU'D GIVE TO OTHER COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Just remember that it is your wedding! You get to make the choices, not anyone else.
