Two worlds collided when Vinya and Dan met in college at Purdue University. A spunky, brown-eyed girl who grew up in India was introduced to a kind, Northern boy who loved football. Over time, their silly and adventurous friendship turned into a love that always led them back to each other through long distance, the pandemic, graduation, new jobs, new cities, the challenges of being an interracial couple, and beyond. Dan officially asked Vinya to marry him while on a picturesque hike in the Smoky Mountains, and then they took a wild adventure to India where Vinya's family threw a grand Indian engagement to celebrate!
Their special day was a joyous celebration filled with color, lush garden florals, and so much dancing! Seven incredible choreographed Bollywood dances, to be exact, set the evening's lively atmosphere for clapping, cheering, and a packed dance floor from the fun-loving crowd. Sugarland's stunning property and barn venue in Arena, Wisconsin, was the perfect setting for their May wedding day, and Sunborn Gardens turned each of the spaces into a summer garden oasis with their blooms. Many meaningful and intentional touches were incorporated into their celebration as Vinya and Dan sought to make their special day truly reflect the two of them.
Vinya was a vision in her romantic gown from Vera's House of Bridals and her bouquet made up of the same colored blooms as her bridesmaids' lehengas, traditional Indian skirts and tops. Each type of flower beautifully symbolized a characteristic of her and Dan's relationship: Loyalty, Romance, Passion, Strength, Charm, and Love. A gorgeous pressed-flower cake from Craig's Cake Shop was a focal point for the reception, and the couple created a fun experience for their guests through signature drinks, fun fact napkins, personalized lawn games, and a sparkler exit as they said their goodbyes! We can't wait for you to dive into every detail of their day below.
