How does a wedding planner differ from a venue coordinator?
While venues sometimes offer on-site coordination and assist with planning, their role varies significantly from that of an official wedding planner. Venue coordinators focus primarily on the space’s logistics and policies, while a wedding planner guides couples through every step of the planning process. A wedding planner assists with budgeting, vendor selection, design and décor, timeline creation, and day-of coordination.
Speaking of the day-of, Sistered Events believes every couple, guest, and family member should be able to soak in every moment. “One thing we say often: your mom is not a wedding planner. Your bridesmaids aren’t either. This is their day to celebrate with you, not manage timelines or troubleshoot vendor questions. During construction, “sistering” refers to strengthening an existing structure by fastening a new, identical piece of lumber directly alongside it—which is exactly how Sistered Events approaches wedding planning. In their words,
