How does a wedding planner differ from a venue coordinator?
While venues sometimes offer on-site coordination and assist with planning, their role varies significantly from that of an official wedding planner. Venue coordinators focus primarily on the space’s logistics and policies, while a wedding planner guides couples through every step of the planning process. A wedding planner assists with budgeting, vendor selection, design and décor, timeline creation, and day-of coordination.
Speaking of the day-of, Sistered Events believes every couple, guest, and family member should be able to soak in every moment. “One thing we say often: your mom is not a wedding planner. During construction, “sistering” refers to strengthening an existing structure by fastening a new, identical piece of lumber directly alongside it—which is exactly how Sistered Events approaches wedding planning. In their words,
