Surrounded by their closest loved ones, Lauren and Jake exchanged their promise of forever to each other during their intimate and classic wedding followed by their reception held at the Overture Center for the Arts. The day and all of its special moments, such as a dedication to Lauren's dad, were captured beautifully by East Elm Photography. Passionate about staying true to themselves and their style, Cherry Blossom Events helped Lauren and Jake create the day of their dreams.

WEDDING DATE: 07/28/2018

HOW DID YOU MEET? We met in 2012 when we started working together at the Wisconsin Union as student Building Managers.

HOW DID YOU KNOW YOU HAD FOUND "THE ONE"? Jake and I dated for almost six years before we got married, so we knew each other very well. Living together definitely helped us understand each other better. Our relationship has always been pretty easy, despite some bumps in our lives. We've always had similar goals and outlooks on life, and we both like to take on a challenge, we've been able to get through a lot of things together. We both couldn't imagine doing life without the other by our side, so marriage was a natural next step for us.

WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING COLOR PALETTE? Slate blue, cream, gold, and hints of burgundy.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Classic and simple, with touches of greenery.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION/DESIGN CONCEPT FOR YOUR OVERALL CEREMONY AND RECEPTION DECOR? We wanted to stay true to ourselves when designing our ceremony and reception, and Andrea from Cherry Blossom Events helped us accomplish that. We wanted to create a classic and intimate wedding with those closest to us, and we did just that.

DID YOU USE ANY SPECIALTY CHAIRS, LINENS, CHARGERS, GLASSWARE OR DINNERWARE? The chairs, linens, and chargers were all from Event Essentials. The table numbers and frames were from A La Crate Rentals.

TELL US ABOUT THE FOOD, DESSERT AND ANY SPECIALTY BEVERAGES ON THE MENU: Our food was pretty classic; chicken or beef. The cake was a two-flavored cake from Creative Confections by Alicia Russell, which was delicious! We also had his and her signature cocktails - brandy sweet old fashioned for her, whiskey sour old fashioned for him.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? Our favorite moment was just being able to see all those that we loved in one place, together, celebrating our love.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON PLANS: We just took our honeymoon in June and went to San Francisco, CA. We explored the city and the surrounding islands, went on a hike, and went to a Brewers vs. Giants game - it was perfect for us. We had dreamed of something larger, but at the end of the day, we didn't feel like we needed something extravagant and really wanted to be able to enjoy being together.

WHAT DOES LIFE LOOK LIKE AFTER THE WEDDING? Jake and I lived together prior to getting married, so life didn't change too much for us. We bought a house in February and are looking forward to making it our home. Our dog also just turned six years old and is definitely our fur baby.
