After Kevin’s elementary school crush, Nicole, moved away following 5th grade, the two miraculously reconnected in college at UW Madison. Kevin, working as a bouncer at a bar, let Nicole and her friends skip the line in exchange for her number (pretty smooth, right?). Their first date was at the Memorial Union Terrace, where they quickly realized they were destined for each other. Although grad school led to years apart, they survived a 4-year long-distance relationship, which only strengthened their bond. After being coupled up in a one-bedroom apartment together 24/7 during the pandemic, the two planned a trip to their favorite vacation spot, New Orleans, where Kevin finally popped the question during a stroll along the water.
For their wedding, Nicole and Kevin couldn't imagine a more perfect venue than The Tinsmith. Located in the heart of downtown Madison, this urban greenhouse-inspired space allowed them to bring their tropical wedding vision to life, while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic in the city they love so much. And what’s a party without great food? Blue Plate Catering elevated cocktail hour with delectable hors d’oeuvres and served a delicious dinner featuring braised short rib, chicken saltimbocca, and miso-glazed tofu, ensuring no guest was left unsatisfied.
The couple infused their day with many personal touches. Nicole’s family dog, Ellison, joined her while getting ready and even took part in the ceremony. To honor lost loved ones, Nicole incorporated jewelry from her two grandmothers into her bridal look and reserved a seat for her late father during the ceremony. A beautiful, custom-rendered photo was also showcased of him walking her down the aisle. From the stunning statement palms to these deeply sentimental details, we can't wait for you to dive into Kevin and Nicole’s special celebration below!
