How they Met
For Jordyn and Luke, their first meeting and first date were a decade apart. They technically first met in preschool, growing up in the same community. However, they remained acquaintances until high school, when they were placed in the same homeroom. Their conversations sparked a friendship that grew into a romance that would endure beyond graduation and the changes and challenges of navigating the world as young adults. Through it all, they stayed together, even when the only option was long-distance.
No matter where their paths led, Jordyn and Luke knew their future would always be together. Luke proposed, and the couple began eagerly planning their pastel garden wedding at Vintage Fields, ready to keep chasing their dreams, side by side.
Stationery & Accessories
The couple channeled their creativity while creating their stationery, printed pieces, and favors. Wavy lines, contour cuts, and organic floral patterns set the tone for a relaxed celebration with the closest friends and family.
While Jordyn and Luke’s could not include their two cats and their dog in the wedding itself, they honored their beloved pets in their signage and favors. They featured an illustration of their cats on cocktail napkins and included their dog on matchbox favors given to guests at the end of the night.
A Pastel Garden Wedding at Vintage Fields
Located in Columbus, Wisconsin, Vintage Fields offers tranquil indoor and outdoor settings for couples seeking a rural wedding or event venue. Highlights include an outdoor ceremony site, cocktail hour in the courtyard, the Wedding Barn, the Carriage House, the farmhouse, the groomsmen garage, and plenty of beautiful Wisconsin views.
Fun was a top priority for Jordyn & Luke while planning their big day. They wanted to create a laid-back environment where they could stay in the moment while still providing plenty of entertainment for guests. In order to make their dream come true, Jordyn advises,
“Book a planner!! I was so overwhelmed about the entire planning process that even the thought of a wedding felt like too much. I decided to work with Elevate Events, and because of them I was able to actually enjoy the day of my wedding and be present.”
Getting Ready, Glam, & Fashions
Jordyn & Luke prepared for the day in their separate suites. Jordyn said yes to an elegant, strapless dress from Vera’s House of Bridals. The dress had a scoop neckline, subtly textured fabric, and a full skirt for a ballgown silhouette. She added a tulle veil for the ceremony and portraits.
ANiU Salon & Spa loosely curled Jordyn’s hair and styled it into a romantic half-updo. Unending Beauty by Maria kept the makeup palette soft and natural, emphasizing Jordyn’s eyes with full lashes and her lips in a mauve pink.
Luke wore a light tan suit from Men’s Wearhouse. He paired it with a white dress shirt, brown dress shoes, a pale blue bow tie, and a floral boutonniere.
Jordyn & Luke’s Scenic Outdoor Ceremony
The spring weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony brimming with wildflower arrangements, fresh air, and so much love. Sweet Violet Florals designed loose, garden-inspired arrangements that mixed blush roses and hydrangea with coral peonies, peach ranunculus, purple allium, airy blue delphinium, and delicate white blooms. Layered greenery and wispy foliage kept the florals feeling organic and freshly gathered from the garden as they led down the aisle to the arch backdrop.
Cocktail Hour & Reception Details
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and small bites from Buck & Honey’s on the patio before heading into the barn for dinner, drinks, and dancing. As a tribute to all the long phone calls Jordyn & Luke made to one another while living long distance, the couple decided on an audio guestbook from Cedar & Spice for guests to record well wishes. They also made a DIY corn hole set for guests to sign instead of a guest book, and rented a variety of pieces, including linens and dinnerware from Event Essentials.
Miggy’s Bakes brought a simple two-tier wedding cake, perfect for layering asymmetrical florals at the dessert table.
Wedding Party & Portraits
Jordyn & Luke stepped outside the box with wedding party fashions, with each bridesmaid wearing a different color pastel dress. Sweet Violet Florals also designed monofloral bouquets for each bridesmaid that corresponded to the color of her dress. White parasol accessories also added a touch of whimsy for group photos and couple portraits.
Fine art photographer Meghan Lee Harris captured every detail of Jordyn & Luke’s day with natural, light-filled imagery inside and outside the barn.
Reflecting on their day, the couple advised,
“Trust the process! Everything will come together, and even if it isn’t exactly what you imagined, it will feel perfect either way. Try to stay present and enjoy as much of the day as possible. It really does go by so fast.”
