For Amy & Chris, it was love at first swipe. They met on Bumble in May of 2023, and as they say, the rest was history. After a year and a half of dating, Chris planned a romantic beach proposal in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, while he and Amy enjoyed a sun-soaked vacation. After an enthusiastic “yes!”, the couple returned home to begin planning their dream wedding day.
Priorities are always a challenge when planning a wedding, and adding a wedding planner to their venue package at 10 South was a huge help. At the end of the day, Amy & Chris wanted their day to reflect their personalities and love story, and for their guests to have a great time. They decided on a modern romantic garden theme, with shades of green, sage, and blush, set against the rustic elegance of their venue.
10 South in downtown Janesville is a beautifully restored, historic venue for weddings and private events. They offer indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, where guests can easily move between the Main Hall and the Hearth Patio. This came in handy when the skies opened up, bringing unexpected showers on Amy & Chris’s day.
After getting ready on-site, the couple exchanged private vows on the patio, framed by a cream brick fireplace and a floral backdrop by Generations Wedding Flowers & Photography. Generations Wedding Flowers & Photography also provided bouquets and other arrangements throughout the day, featuring prominent blooms such as white roses, blush roses, blush spray roses, white & blush ranunculus, white anemones, tulips, snapdragons, Italian ruscus, and more.
Arrangements were loose and organic, ranging from grand centerpieces to bud vases at the reception.
Amy & Chris tied the knot in 10 South’s striking ballroom underneath a glowing chandelier and Edison bulbs strung from the vaulted ceilings. Amy honored her father’s memory by adding a pin featuring his picture to her bouquet for a symbolic walk down the aisle and by reserving a seat for the day.
Amy wore a stunning, whimsical gown from Bliss Bridal with floral embellishments and airy tulle. The gown featured a v-neckline, floral straps, and a subtle ballgown skirt that led into a long train.
Sora Fiamma took a soft approach to traditional bridal hair and makeup. Amy wore a textured, low updo with wavy, face-framing pieces. Her makeup was warm and glowing, accentuating her lashes and rosy cheeks.
Bridemaids wore green dresses in various styles, coordinating with one another while allowing unique style preferences to shine through. Chris and his groomsmen matched in classic black suits from Banana Republic, with crisp white dress shirts, black ties, and floral boutonnieres.
Annika Frame Photography took the lead on the day’s photography, with Kyra Beth Photography assisting. Together, they documented every detail from getting ready to last dances and everything in between. They also assisted with timelines and posing, helping Amy & Chris feel at ease in front of the camera. The result was a beautiful gallery that embraced warm lighting, weather pivots, and the genuine emotions between the couple and their loved ones.
The reception continued inside, where guests enjoyed catering from Tuscan Hall Venue and Catering and desserts from Mili Wonka Treats. Made & True helped set the tone with creative bar signs & seating charts that fit the couple’s color palette and garden-inspired vibe. Other printed pieces included fans and streamer wands placed on each seat.
Guests danced the rest of the night away with music by 10 South Sound, as the lights dimmed to reveal a custom couple monogram.
Amy & Chris’s advice for engaged couples was simple:
