Tied by Fate: Jenna & Cam's Fresh, Floral-Filled Wedding at Harvest Moon Pond

At WedPlan, we celebrate love stories every day, but this one is extra special. Our very own team member, Jenna, tied the knot with the love of her life, and we couldn’t be happier for them! From your friends and colleagues at WedPlan—congratulations, Jenna & Cam. We're so thrilled to feature your beautiful wedding!

Jenna and Cam nearly crossed paths so many times before actually meeting that Jenna believes they were tied by an "invisible string." From living just down the street from each other during winter break, to attending the same gym, to finding Cam's wallet in a parking lot, their eventual official meeting at a local bar felt like an intervention from fate. Jenna opened the door, and Cam was right on the other side. He recognized her from the gym, they talked for a while, and both ended the night knowing their lives had changed for the better.

A couple of years later, Cam planned a swoonworthy New Year's proposal. He got down on one knee seconds after the clock struck midnight, even working with the venue and a photographer to capture the excitement as balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling.

When planning their big day, Jenna and Cam started by narrowing down what they felt was more important. Jenna wrote, “[We] both wanted our wedding to feel intimate, with our closest friends and family. We wanted everyone to have a fun time and for the atmosphere to be lighthearted, while still incorporating sentimental pieces. It was really important to us that the day felt authentically us.”

Bright florals and personal touches helped shape every decision, starting with colorful stationery by LK Bridal Studio. The color palette for the day consisted primarily of pink and orange, with touches of green, blue, and black.

Their first look was especially significant for Cam. After all of their years together and all the wedding planning, he realized their day was finally here. Even though they had only been apart for a few hours to prepare, he already missed Jenna and was so excited just to be around her and celebrate their love.

Cam and his groomsmen wore black suits from DuBois Formalwear. His groomsmen and ushers wore black vests, white undershirts, black shoes, and black bow ties. Cam coordinated in a black suit with a satin lapel lining, a black undershirt, and a patterned bow tie.

Jenna found her dream dress–a romantic, ethereal gown–at Vera’s House of Bridal. The A-Line gown featured a structured bodice, off-the-shoulder sleeves, lace fabric, pockets, and a flowing train. Her bridal party selected their own dress or suit style, each unique, but within the color palette for the day.

Just like with the fashions, AB On Site Beauty kept every makeup and hairstyle unique, yet harmonious. The makeup was soft and glamorous, enhancing their natural beauty with subtle contour, shaped brows, and neutral tones. Jenna’s hair was loosely waved, then pulled into a half-updo perfect for her fingertip-length veil.

As the florist, designer, coordinator, & rental company, Melody Rose Designs played a pivotal role from early in the wedding planning process. Jenna reflected, “I highly, highly, highly recommend Melody Rose Designs. From floral to rentals to overall design, she knocks it out of the park. She truly brought my vision to life!”

Florals and floral installations elevated every corner of Harvest Moon Pond, a stunning local barn venue with beautiful indoor and outdoor settings. At their outdoor ceremony, Jenna and her bridesmaids carried bright, cheerful bouquets including a wide array of colors and blooms. Cam and his groomsmen also wore pocket florals for a fresh pop of color to their black-tie attire.

The ceremony, set beneath a pair of weeping willow trees, also featured an abstract, broken floral arch backdrop, white wooden chairs, and florals lining the aisle. Exchanging vows was Jenna’s most cherished moment of the day, and, while she couldn’t help but cry the whole time, the tears were purely heartfelt and joyful.

Inside the barn, the tables were set for the reception. Guests were greeted with a welcome sign beside a sentimental "Love Stories Before Ours" table, which included framed photos from Jenna and Cam's relatives' wedding days.

Melody Rose Designs continued the decor with floral arrangements ranging from bud vases to towering floral centerpieces. The barn’s chandeliers also dripped with greenery and long-stemmed flowers, creating a whimsical hanging installation.

Jenna and Cam married on Jenna’s grandparents’ wedding anniversary. As a heartfelt detail, Melody Rose Designs recreated Jenna’s grandma’s wedding bouquet, which became the centerpiece for her table. It was important to honor her grandma and make the day special for her, as her grandfather had passed a few months before. Jenna also gifted her mother and grandmother a custom painting that combined the three of them on their respective wedding days into one image.

The tablescapes were light and airy, using the warm wooden tables as a base for gold chargers, vintage plates, crystal glassware, and pink table runners. Jenna and Cam had a sweetheart table on the barn stage, backlit by curtains and string lights.

Before a delicious dinner from North and South Seafood & Smokehouse Catering, guests played yard games, enjoyed appetizers, and sipped signature cocktails named after the couple's two cats, Jinx and Jazzy.

The couple’s pets were also honored on their single-tier white cake from Craig’s Cake Shop, playfully decorated on the side. Other desserts from Craig’s Cake Shop included cupcakes and cream puffs, while Sunny Celebrations printed custom sugar cookies to honor the couple and the venue.

Larissa Marie Photography & Videography had no shortage of beautiful locations to capture portraits and candid moments. Their signature style preserved every pop of color and detail as the day progressed and the celebration shifted between indoor and outdoor locations. Golden hour photos were a must before the official first dances on Harvest Moon Pond’s patio.

When it came to the planning process, Jenna credits our WedPlan publication for helping the couple select vendors and keep on track. She wrote, “I used the WedPlan publication constantly! I read through the whole thing before I started planning, and then would reread the various vendor article before I went to any consultations, so I was aware of what questions to ask and what I should remember to consider.”

Her biggest tip for couples currently in the planning process is to be confident in your decisions. “Whether it’s parents, relatives, or friends, there’s going to be so many people who try to talk you into things or out of things. It’s YOUR day! Do what you want to do! The only opinions that truly matter are yours and your partner’s. It’s about YOU and YOUR love!”

The night concluded with pizza, glow sticks, pink sunglasses as favors, and plenty of music and dancing provided by Luxe Productions. At the end of the night, guests were bussed back to their accommodations at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Madison East.
